Where the governments disagree on Tanzania
Opinion on Tanzania is divided, though not dramatically: ratings run from level 2 to level 3. Three of the eleven take the stricter view, and the remaining eight see no cause for it. A one-level split of this kind usually reflects differing thresholds between governments rather than a dispute about the facts.

The warnings for Tanzania are not uniform across the country. 13 distinct areas are singled out by at least one government. Among them: Western Kigoma Region and areas near the Burundi border and Mtwara Region (Mtwara). At least one of these carries the highest possible rating, meaning a government advising against all travel there while rating the rest of the country lower.
The level 3 rating from United States, South Korea and United Kingdom carries practical weight even if your own government is more relaxed — insurers commonly price against, or exclude, travel contrary to official advice, so the rating that matters most is the one issued for your passport.
