What the governments agree on for Mali

There is no disagreement here. All eleven governments that assess Mali advise against travel outright. Unanimity at the highest level is rare — most troubled destinations produce at least one dissenting view — and it means eleven independent foreign ministries reached the same conclusion separately.

Currency varies between sources. New Zealand's is the oldest assessment of Mali on file, last revised in November 2024, while the rest have been reviewed more recently.

Eleven of the eleven governments currently advise against all travel, and that has consequences beyond the wording: most policies void cover for travel taken against your own government's advice, and consular assistance may be limited or unavailable on the ground.
